Simple Tips for Pregnant Women:
Simple Tips for Pregnant Women: These tips are beneficial before, during and following child birth.
1) Make sure you treat yourself and pamper yourself. Schedule alone time to just get away for a massage, manicure or pedicure (if you’re into that) or even a relaxing weekend at the beach or park retreat. My favorite was a nice foot massage, light walking or simply sitting back for the weekend and let other household members do all the work without being interrupted. I also kept on working throughout both pregnancies; keeping active is important for your health, emotional and mental well-being. Avoid just sitting around and eating. You’ll need to build up strength and lounging around, will only lead to weak muscles. try keeping your feet elevated as much as possible especially your last trimester; this will help to reduce swelling especially in warmer climates.
2) Take your supplements until the very end. I actually took prenatal vitamins and minerals before, during and after pregnancy. This makes for healthier babies and moms. there are lots of homeopathic treatments to relieve some of the discomfort that comes with pregnancy such as nausea, body aches, swelling and chronic fatigue. Check with your midwife, doctor or even childbirth class coordinator. Although you should follow a healthy eating and exercise plan, give into cravings once in a while. With my daughter I had to have everything orange like…orange juice, orange sherbert, orange jelly candies and orange popsicles. Although some of it would be considered unhealthy, I tried for the healthiest when I could, which was the orange juice and that satisfied my orange craving just fine. Do everything in moderation and listen to your body at all times.
3) Have all the sex you desire. It is now known that a man’s sperm contains a hormone called prostoglandins which will actually help to soften the woman’s cervix. Try out different positions and find which one is most comfortable for tummy, baby and mom. There are lots of books covering pregnancy sex and some of the most comfortable positions I’ve read about are those of the Chinese. Your midwife should be able to answer these questions as well as your childbirth coach. If you’re over due – HAVE LOTS AND LOTS OF SEX! And remember, you can’t hurt the baby.
4) Make sure you have family and friends that will support you through your highs and lows. Your hormones are constantly changing and you need a real support system of people that care and understand. If you’re alone, look inside yourself for that support.
5) A positive attitude is important for both you and baby. Don’t let yourself stress out and read lots; learn information that in the long run will make you wiser and stronger. If you believe you can have a wonderful natural childbirth experience then you will! Stay away from negative energy and people.
6) When choosing a childbirth class, make sure it’s one that’s both informative as well as allows you to have choices. Allow yourself to connect with other expectant mothers and learn and share from one another.
7) Sleep as much as possible as you won’t be getting much of it once the baby arrives. Take 10 or 15 minute power naps throughout the day. They’ll refresh you and give you a burst of energy without causing you to be over tired in the middle of the day. If you sleep during the day, you won’t be able to have a productive sleep come night.
Don’t forget to exercise at least three times a week. Investigate safe exercise routines during pregnancy. After giving birth, take time to enjoy and feel free to not resume an exercise routing until your six week check up. Your body needs to heal slowly and the weight will automatically start coming off while you’re breastfeeding anyway.
9) Make sure you feel totally comfortable with those that will be with you throughout your delivery.
10) Drink lots and lots of fluids – especially water!!! Urinary tract infections can occur more during pregnancy.
11) And most importantly, concentrate on you, your baby and family. Once the baby arrives enjoy him or her and don’t let petty things get in the way. Everything doesn’t have to be perfectly clean and organized; just what makes you all comfortable. Sleep when your baby sleeps and do dishes another time and definitely get others to help while you’re going through the process of breastfeeding. Friends and family should not be judgmental and should not give advice unless asked. Life is too short and your babies grow up too fast. Spend time doing what’s really important and create memories you all will remember forever.
12) And one more thing…DRESS COMFORTABLE and wear comfortable shoes.

All About Vitamins and Minerals
It has now been proven that vitamins and minerals can help prevent certain types of cancer, heart disease, birth defects and reduce your chances of simply catching the common cold! For just pennies a day you can have real health insurance and feel better.
Doctors are now recommending children as well as adults take one multi-vitamin multi-mineral supplement daily. Here I’ve compiled vitamins and minerals essential for a healthier body. Even if you’re the healthiest eater possible, you can never get all the vitamins and minerals necessary for complete nutrition.
As with any medication or herbal remedies, make sure you don’t have allergies and speak with your health provider first. Certain chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease can be affected by taking certain vitamins and minerals, even herbs.
Make sure your capsule contains very little to no fillers such as starch, sugar or even wheat, soy or milk derivatives. These fillers take away from the potency of the capsule as well as reduce the % of nutrients involved.
There are 2 types of vitamins: water soluble and fat soluble. You don’t want to take much more than suggested daily amount of iron, vitamin a, vitamin e and vitamin d. They are not water soluable, not expelled easily by the body.
You should also take only the necessary daily amount for certain minerals such as Niacin. Too much Niacin can speed up your heart beat and experience flushing episodes throughout the day because it will accelerate your circulatory system.
This is especially dangerous if you’re already taking blood thinners and or heart medication. Overdosing on Iron can be dangerous as well and can lead to strokes, elevated blood pressure and severe headaches. Just keep in mind that fat soluble vitamins don’t metabolize as well as water soluble.
You can’t overdose on water soluble vitamins. All your b vitamins, biotin and c are water soluble. Choline falls between fat and water soluble.
MINERALS:
CALCIUM – (calcium citrate-malate is easier absorbed into the body)
Maintains strong bones and teeth. Found in dairy foods, sardines and green veggies. Helps prevent certain cancers and high blood pressure.
CHROMIUM – If you’re diabetic, speak with your health provider first to see if this mineral is right for your level of diabetes. Found in grains, cereals and dark brews.
COPPER – High in collagen and fights the signs of aging from the inside. Found in lean meats, fish, nuts, beans and grains. Cooking in copper pots will increase the % of this mineral. Neutrogena Cosmetics now adds copper to at least one of their new facial foundations! www.neutrogena.com
IRON – Keeps blood cells healthy and gives you energy. Found in liver and other organ meats, fish, eggs, spinach and iron enriched cereals and grains.
MAGNESIUM – Prevents certain types of birth defects and bruising or blood clots. Found in sunflower and pumpkin seeds, seaweed, black strap molasses, green veggies, lean meats, low fat dairy, seafood and soy products. This mineral helps diminish symptoms of premenstrual syndrome!!
MANGANESE – Helps the body metabolize fats and proteins there by giving you more energy. Found in grains, seaweed, nuts, seeds.
POTASSIUM – Prevents high blood pressure and helps keep sugar levels balanced, especially if you suffer from low blood sugar. Found in bananas and most fruits, low fat dairy foods, seafood and most whole grains.
SELENIUM – Helps prevent formation of cancerous cells. Found in nuts, beer, lean meats, fish and most whole grains and rice.
ZINC – Helps maintain a VERY healthy immune system! Both men and women should increase their zinc intake as it also keeps reproductive organs healthy and can help to increase sperm count.
Fat Soluble Vitamins:
VITAMIN A – or retinal is the best in preventing cancer. It basically helps maintain healthy cellular composition while raising immunity. Found in colorful fruits and veggies, fish oil and lean meats. Only half the recommended amount should be taken by pregnant women. In this case, a prenatal vitamin will give you the correct amount of vitamins and minerals needed for both you and your baby without any harm. Your health provider or mid-wife should suggest which prenatal vitamins to take.
Oh and if you’re a vegetarian, vegan or are on a macro-biotic diet you should definitely look into which vitamins are missing in your diet. These alternative ways of eating can deplete you from vitamins and minerals necessary for healthy survival. Books on such diets will most likely offer you info on which vitamins and minerals to take apart from your daily chosen way of eating.
VITAMIN D – Keeps skeletal system and tooth enamel healthy. Found in Cod liver oil, fish, eggs and low fat dairy products. You can also go out in the sun for your daily intake of this vitamin. Both Cod liver oil and fish oils can be taken in capsule form. These oils help to lubricate stiff joints there by deceasing arthritic pain. Egg Beaters is a wonderful product that gives you all the benefits of eggs but without the fat and cholesterol.
VITAMIN E – or d alpha locopherol and succenate- a synthetic form and not as easily absorbed into the body. Important in preventing heart disease and brain problems. Found in veggie oils, nuts and what cereals and products. If you’re allergic to wheat, you may have to take it in capsule form. Vitamin E oil also lubricates your skin from within and makes a very effective facial line reducer!
VITAMIN K – Helps maintain healthy circulatory system and aids in healing broken bones…especially important to new-borns and older folks. Found in green veggies and green tea. Speak to your health provider before taking this vitamin if you’re taking blood thinning medication.
Water Soluble Vitamins:
VITAMIN B-1 – or thiamine helps you think more clearly and boosts energy levels. Found in rice, eggs, low fat dairy and soybeans. Very beneficial in reduction of PMS symptoms!!
VITAMIN B-2 – or riboflavin – Raises immunity and keeps you active. Found in cheese products, eggs, seafood, poultry, some dairy products and green leafy veggies. Old folks benefit from this vitamin the most.
VITAMIN B3 or niacin is helpful in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels and blood and is also known for nervous system benefits. Found in beer, bright colored veggies, brewer’s yeast, seafood, wheat products and certain nuts.
VITAMIN B5 or pantothenic acid – Maintains a healthy nervous system and provides more energy. Great for PMS symptoms! Found in Whole wheat products, eggs, peas and legumes. Beneficial for people with Lupus and Arthritic diseases.
VITAMIN B6 – or pyridoxine – Responsible for helping with body development and growth ;especially for toddlers and growing children. Found in cereals such as oatmeal, brewer’s yeast, brown rice, bananas, poultry, seafood and brightly colored veggies especially sweet potatoes and pumpkin. Very beneficial for a healthy pregnancy and to increase lactation after delivery.
VITAMIN B9 or Folic Acid – An all around beneficial nutrient for the body! Found in greens, beer, liver, orange juice and certain green veggies. This is the most important vitamin to take during pregnancy as it helps to prevent certain genetic birth defects in utero. Keep taking it during breast feeding as well! Folic Acid is now contained in all prenatal tablets or at least should be…and don’t drink beer while pregnant.
VITAMIN B12 or cobalamin – Helps keep the body balanced mood wise because it interacts positively with the nervous system. Found in animal organs, seafood, eggs and low fat dairy products.
BIOTIN – Important for healthy skin, hair and nails. Found in dairy products, fish, meats, rice and brewer’s yeast.
CHOLINE – not all the way water soluble – helps your body metabolize fat, gives you energy and keeps you calm. Found in grains, lean meats, eggs and legumes (certain beans). Beneficial in preventing neurological diseases.
VITAMIN C – or absorbic acid – This has got to be the king of vitamins! Cancer preventer, energy supplier, cellular healer, immune booster (helps prevent colds and flu), maintains eye health, helps body movement without aches, keeps muscles and bones healthy, helps heal and prevents heart disease. You may take a separate capsule in addition to your multi capsule. Found in citrus and greens. Basically fruits and veggies or juices and veggie drinks and soups. If you don’t care to eat a lot of fruits and veggies, they’re in fruit soups as well.
What I do is take a high quality multi vitamin multi mineral and take separate capsules of vitamin c, biotin, fish oil and brewer’s yeast in addition.
I also like taking prenatal vitamins for short periods to boost up everything all together.
Prenatals also help me with PMS symptoms and should definitely be taken while pregnant and breastfeeding.

Stay Healthy and Energetic
Stay Healthy and Energetic
You will want to begin this area of your simplification through what you eat and how you prepare your meals. Make more one-pot meals
ACAand don’t be fancy. Just stick to basic and healthy; this will not only cut your cooking time in half but reduce your grocery spending as well. Just keep in mind that you are eating to live, not living to eat. You don’t always have to cook hot meals. I keep homemade salads in the refrigerator and just toast some bread on the side. Another favorite is simply some steamed rice with vegetables and canned fish. Steamed rice and hard- boiled eggs with a splash of Olive Oil is one of my favorites. This will take some time but once you get the hang of it you’ll be saving tons of time and money.
Avoid eating out as much as possible and do keep in mind that a lot of restaurants will allow you to purchase kid’s sized meals or simply share an adult meal. What is the deal with these all you can eat places? We’re not going on a long journey nor are we preparing our bodies to hibernate…very unhealthy. Don’t stock up on prepared foods…they’re loaded with salt and preservatives and cost a lot more money. The only boxed food I know of that will save you time and money and is not all that unhealthy is macaroni and cheese. Canned fruits and vegetables are o.k. with canned or powdered milk in case of emergencies. By the way, organ meats (if you eat meat) and powdered milk are some of the most nutritious foods and really cheap. Avoid buying soda and candy.
Try fasting once a week if possible. You don’t have to go totally without food or drink. This will give your digestive system a rest. Try an all juice fast or a broth of your choice. My favorite is just water for an entire day. Eat an early dinner and don’t go to sleep on a full stomach. Your heart and digestive tract don’t have to work overtime.
Walk or ride your bike to work and always try and pack your own food.
Walking is the only exercise you really need.
Drink lots of fresh water daily. Seventy five percent of our body is water.
Practice good rest and sleep habits. Try going to bed earlier so you can wake up earlier and take your time preparing for your day.
Morning time will set the theme to your day. Think only positive thoughts and meditate on them. Your day will be less tiring and you’ll have the feeling of constant energy and motivation.
One thing that’s helpful to me in the morning is to write down my plans for the day and always expect that I might not get to them all or there’s always room for interruptions. You’ll only damage your day if you try to accomplish everything on your list when that interruption called LIFE comes your way.
In my younger years I definitely had the typical type A personality. Everything had to be just so and look just so. I soon found out that was not really living and so much of my time was taken up with petty details and meaningless tasks. Since your body is a machine, it can’t just run all the time.
Take time to just sit back and do absolutely nothing. We all need that every once in a while and it’s unhealthy not to. Once you’ve simplified you’ll soon learn how much of that
NOTHING time is simply handed over to you. Remove yourself from any social responsibilities that stress you and most importantly, don’t be afraid to say NO.

Home Remedies
Simple Home Remedies for the Body and Face
- You can use Milk of Magnesia as underarm deodorant anti-perspirant. Apply under arm pits and let dry completely. It will turn into a chalk-like substance. It will not stain clothing. I personally use only deodorants. Anti-perspirants tend to clog my pores and thus rashes occur…after all, your body prespires for a reason. Most anti-perspirants contain aluminum; deodorants do not.
ÂTo prevent nail-biting in both children as well as adults you can apply “Tinto de Violeta”…an old time remedy found in many mom and pop pharmacies. It can mostly be found in small Latin Pharmacies and or markets. The substance is not harmful to intake..but believe me; the very first taste of it and you’ll definitely not try it again. Keep in mind that at a certain age children may go through a stage of nail-biting. Oh and one more thing…the liquid dries a colour of deep purple on your nails which can be somewhat unpleasing to the eye.
A daily tablespoon of Cod Liver Oil restores healthier and easier body movement…serves as the body’s inner moisturizer; this along with vitamin E will help arthritic pain without affecting your stomach lining like aspirin does. Follow this routine no more than a month at a time…Vitamins E and A should not be used in strong dosages for long periods of time. Cod Liver Oil also helps relieve mild constipation.
I remember as a little girl a friend of mine would refresh her hair by shaking cornstarch powder on her hair and scalp and brushing vigorously.
To reduce bad breath…eat some celery daily…this will also help calm your nerves.
For insect bites, mash a garlic clove and rub on bite or cut. Garlic is a natural healer and antibiotic. My grandmother used the smashed garlic to heal skin wounds as well as take it internally to fight colds and infections.
When my mother was a child, she suffered from extremely high fevers and her mother would apply an apple cider vinegar compress on her forehead to reduce her fever.
Smashed bananas and your favorite cooking oil makes an excellent moisturizer for dry hair and scalp…for added protein and body just massage in 1 beaten egg; use only egg yolks for drier hair and egg whites for oilier.
Garlic in any form is great for the treatment of heart disease as well as lowers cholesterol.
Baking Soda is wonderful for whitening teeth as well as reducing mouth odors. Use in moderation.
If you suffer from mild stomach acids or indigestion, dilute equal parts soda and water then drink.
Â
- When beer has gone flat or you simply have some bottles to spare, try a rinse of fresh or flat beer for added body and bounce to your hair. Do not rinse off after application.
- For early sinus relief apply a warm wash cloth to affected sinus area. It will help your sinuses drain and release pressure thus interrupt formation of an infection. Repeat about three times a day or as needed.
Â
- You can also create your own cough syrup with a mixture of rock candy or sugar and whiskey l…make sure you heat till thickened.
- Warm honey, whiskey, and vinegar was another old-time remedy for arthritic bones. My mother suffers from degenerative bone disease as well as arthritis since the age if 15 and many years ago removed red meat intake from her diet and she has noticed an incredible difference. Studies now show a connection between red meat intake and osteo-arthritis!
- Milk of Magnesia as well as Mineral Oil can help with temporary constipation.
- Apple Cider Vinegar has been used in the reduction of body fat… use in moderation; has been said to irritate the liver.
- A new research has indicated fluoride helps to strengthen nails. Try rubbing fluoride toothpaste on nails…let sit about 10 min. then rinse off with tepid water; apply a vitamin E cream. Keep in mind creams are more emollient and concentrated than lotions.
Â
 -
Apple Cider Vinegar has been used in the reduction of body fat by taking several tablespoons a day…use only in moderation for short periods of time.
 -
From Bill – Rub common table salt on hands to remove any strong odors.
-
From Kitty – Rinse and brush with a touch of hydrogen peroxide to fight mouth infection as well as whiten teeth.
-
From Sylvia – Apply malt vinegar to reduce pain and itching of wasp stings.
-
From Rachel – Use vinegar and water as underarm deodorant.
-
From Jeremiah and Sabrina – Use plastic bags to wrap breakables during a move; they work just as well as paper wrap.
-
From Janelle from Illinois – Rub vitamin E oil on warts then cover with band-aid; they should be gone in less than a month
-
For Ringworm – Make a poultice of sulphur and butter till fungus disappears.
-
A poultice of apple cider vinegar and baking soda will heal skin infections.
-
Cinnamon tea is a natural blood thinner.

Pregnancy and Conditions Associated With It
Folk Remedies for Pregnancy and Conditions Associated With It…
Easier Childbirth:
-
Drink Blueberry Root Tea at the first sign of strong contractions.
-
Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is simply the most wonderful and has many uses before and after pregnancy. Drink this tea in the last stages of pregnancy to ease the pain of contractions. If your nipples are soar before and after breastfeeding, you can wash them regularly with this tea. It will also help with even milk production and regulate heavy bleeding after childbirth.
If you’re prone to miscarry…
-
Star Root taken in small amounts several times a day will help prevent miscarriage.
-
Drink Sage Tea once a day over ice to prevent simultaneous abortion.
Nausea during Pregnancy:
- Drink Lemon water, Lime water, or Apple Cider Vinegar water in small amounts throughout the day.
- Chamomile Tea or Mint Tea will help soothe and cool stomach lining and help to relax stiff stomach muscles.
- Apply a cloth that’s been dipped in Mint Tea and wrung on your stomach while resting.
***I am personally against taking any type of anti-nausea medications during pregnancy even if your doctor says it’s safe for the baby.***
Constipation during Pregnancy:
- Take a tablespoon of Olive Oil upon rising.
- Drink eight 8oz. Glasses of water per day.
- Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
- KEEP ACTIVE!
Swollen Feet:
Eat healthy food and reduce your intake of salt. Avoid smoking, alcohol, and caffeine. Remain cool and avoid standing for long periods of time especially if the weather is hot. Drink lots of fluids and rest; take small walks throughout the day.
At the end of your day, try soaking your feet in warm Epsom Salts and follow by raising your feet higher than your chest on comfortable pillows; have your mate give you a foot and ankle massage to get the blood flowing and ease tension out; and last but not least, wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
Stretch Marks:
The way I did it was taking my mom’s advice to apply warm Olive Oil and pure Cocoa Butter all over; especially the stomach, buttocks, and breast area. Stretch Marks have a lot to do with skin type and genetics, but try this remedy either way…it may greatly reduce your percentage of marks.
If you still end up getting them approach this in a positive light. They are beautiful reminders of giving life; be proud of them and know that in some way, there is beauty in them as well.

Problems With Menstruation
PROBLEMS WITH MENSTRUATION:
Irregular Menses:
1) Try soaking feet in hot water or take a warm bath.
2) Drink strong red wine throughout the day by tablespoon amounts.
3) Hot Chamomile and Cinnamon Teas
4) Apply heat on affected areas of pain; usually the lower back as well as lower abdominal. 5) Tablespoons of hot Whiskey and Sage Tea
Uncomfortable Menses:
1) Soak in hot baths
2) Drink Red Raspberry LEAF Tea 3 to 4 times a day. This tea is also very beneficial during the last month of pregnancy to lesson painful contractions.
3) Hot Chamomile Tea with a dash of Cinnamon
4) Women in the Cuban Countryside would drink warm beer. The Hops helps with the pain and also helps dismiss blood clots; which cause much of the pain in the first place.
5) Drink hot Thyme Tea
Heavy Bleeding During Menses:
We as women have to keep in mind our monthly period is a time to rest both physically and mentally. Clear yourself and your home of unwanted and bothersome responsibilities and stress. Avoid spicy foods and excessive alcohol. Stay quiet and drink warm Cinnamon Tea.
This should be a time to stop and redirect our thought patterns; a time to respect our bodies and allow it to go through this beautiful change with enjoyment as well as inner peace. It is because of stress and over exhaustion that our periods are sometimes irregular, painful, and heavy.
If you suffer mild night sweats before and after your cycle, drink some Sage Tea and eat highly nutritional foods; also, try a warm bath of Sea Salt. I say a new law should go into affect which allows women who work outside the home a monthly menses time off; what do you think? At least try and give yourself SOME rest time. It’s important!

Douching Folk Remedies
Douching Folk Remedies:
Before offering you some of the remedies, let me honestly say I’ve never douched nor had the need to; unfortunately there are times when the vaginal track can become irritated and at those times it’s better to try a natural douche rather than an over the counter remedy.
The vaginal track is an amazing thing; it keeps itself perfectly balanced and self cleanses as well. Listed here are some relievers in case you should run into vaginal imbalance or discomfort. Too much douching can lead to vaginal imbalances and strips the track of many of the essential components which keep it healthy.
1) Warm water and White Vinegar
2) Witch Hazel and warm water
3) An infusion of Slippery Elm Bark(especially good after vaginal child birth)
4) Common Teas and warm water

Poison:General First Aid Guidelines
Swallowed poison. Induce vomiting ONLY if emergency personnel on the phone tell you to do so. It will depend on what the child has swallowed; some petroleum products or caustic poisons will cause more damage if the child is made to vomit.
Always keep Syrup of Ipecac on hand (1 ounce for each child in the household) to use to induce vomiting if recommended by emergency personnel. Be sure the date is current.
If poison splashes into an eye, hold the eyelid open and wash quickly and gently with clean running water from the tap or a gentle stream from a hose for at least 15 minutes. If possible, have someone else contact a Poison Control Center for you while the victim is being treated.
Do not use eye drops or chemicals or drugs in the wash water.
Poison on skin. If pesticide splashes on the skin, drench area with water and remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin and hair thoroughly with soap and water. Later, discard contaminated clothing or thoroughly wash it separately from other laundry.
Inhaled poison. Carry or drag victim to fresh air immediately.
If you think you need protection such as a respirator and one is not available to you, call the Fire Department and wait for emergency equipment before entering the area. Loosen victim’s tight clothing. If the victim’s skin is blue or the victim has stopped breathing, give artificial respiration (if you know how) and call rescue service for help. Open doors and windows so no one else will be poisoned by fumes.
Additional pesticide product information can be obtained from the National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) at 1-800-858-7378. NPIC is a toll-free information service operated Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time (9:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time).

How To Avoid Middle Aged Spred
The middle age spread usually begins showing (and seems to remain) as early as your thirties. It is an accumulation of fat around your stomach (for men) and stomach, hips and thighs for women. It usually affects women more following childbirth (hip bones spread as well as skin looses elasticity). This is an indication that you have been consuming well over what your body actually needs.
As we grow older we need far less fat proteins. At this time, it is a good idea to fast (go without solid food) at least once a week. You should check with your health care provider before attempting a fast of any kind. There are many different types of fasts out there and if your doctor leans more towards alternative medicine, he will most likely help you decide on a proper fast. I personally choose one day a month to consume only fruit juices and broths.
It is difficult for me to do a complete fast as I have children to take care of and fasting is a time to relax or lie down completely…especially if it lasts more than a day. Many health experts are against fasting and many are all for it. Again, I believe in moderation in everything; that is why I only do a once a month liquids-only fast.
Research and investigate as well as speak with people you know are familiar with this technique and choose what’s right for you. Remember, a healthy long life occurs when your body remains lean.
Fat body tissue is diseased tissue. The human heart has to beat faster and work harder when you have too much weight, especially around your middle. Being fifty or more pounds over weight after the age of forty- five shortens your life span by 50%!
If you are obese, the safest beginning workout you should try is some gentle yoga, along with a walk of at least ten minutes, at least three times a week.
Deep breathing, as will occur with Yoga, will help the body oxidize foods, resulting in quicker elimination of toxins and fresh newly oxidized blood flow can renew body tissue.
Just think of this process as rinsing out a dirty mop.
The reason most people over eat – apart from the emotional aspects – is they are not eating foods with proper nourishment and therefore the body wants to continually eat more and more; sort of searching for the exact foods it needs yet never able to find it.
Avoid these foods:
White bread
Pastries
Mashed potatoes with cream, butter or gravy
Cream puffs
Polished rice
Sugary cereals
Heavy whipping creams
White or refined sugars
Candy
Icecream
Rich desserts
***
Your body is made up of 16 elements: Carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and 12 others. In order to stay healthy and lean, these elements need to be replenished daily and can only be done by eating WHOLE FOODS.
