Make sure you scrub the ham clean, then soak in cold water. Change the water every 3 to 4 hours for 12 to 24 hours depending on size. Cook it wrapped in foil with some cider (home made if at all possible) and water. Cooking times differ with weight. Uncover for the last 15 to 20 minutes to brown.
