You’ll need:
One pound dehydrated light brown sugar (the new kind that you can pour like regular white sugar, the water’s been removed and comes in a pour-like 16.oz. container)
One cup Rice Dream Vanilla Milk (non-dairy)
Five to six ounces of Karob (chocolate substitute) or a non MILK chocolate
One ounce Smart Balance Spread or your choice of margerine or veggie oil
A tiny dash of salt and real Vanilla extract
Except for the Karob, cook all ingredients together till uniform then add Karob slowly and mix hard and fast. When you start noticing a texture change like it’s not as shiny stop and pour into a non-stick pan. Let this cool off at room temperature then put in refrigerator for a while.
Cut into chunks and you’re ready to enjoy! You can of course use regular ingredients such as real milk chocolate and real milk and butter but always use real vanilla extract; it does make a difference. You can also add some almond extract and your favorite crushed nuts. Let me know how yours turns out and if you like it better than with regular ingredients.
